High-Strength Gel Breast Implants

For more than 10 years, American women's choice for breast augmentation has been limited to saline filled breast implants. Under a new FDA breast implant study, you and a participating surgeon have another choice, silicone high-strength gel implants manufactured by Mentor or Silimed.

The semi-solid gel implants, called High-Strength Gel Implants, feel softer and more natural than saline implants, and unlike saline implants, they will not wrinkle. The high-strength gel implants also differ from saline or standard silicone implants which leak if the implant shell is ruptured. Cutting into a high-strength gel implant is a little like cutting into a "gummy bear", hence the name; 'gummy bear implants'.
